Follow these instructions to keep your Windows computer healthy and running well.

Weekly Maintenance

Make sure that your antivirus is current and up to date.

Clean up the temporary and junk files from you hard disk

1. Open Ccleaner.
2. Click the Run Cleaner button in the lower right corner.
3. Close Ccleaner by clicking the X in the upper right corner.

Update Spyware Blaster and apply the updates

1. Open Spyware Blaster
2. Click on the Updates link in the menu on the left.
3. Click the Check For Updated button in the middle of the page.
4. Click the Protection Status link in the menu on the left.
5. Click the Enable All Protection link near the bottom of the page.
6. Close Spyware Blaster by clicking the X in the upper right corner.

Update Spybot Search and Destroy and run the Immunization Tool (2 parts)

Part One

1. Open Spybot Search and Destroy.
2. Click OK on the Legal Stuff window that is displayed.
3. Click the Search For Updates button.
4. Click on one of the Safer-Networking [Europe] locations.
5. Click on the Continue button at the bottom of the window.
6. Make sure all of the boxes for the updates are checked.
7. Click the Download button at the bottom of the window.
8. Click the Exit button at the bottom of the window when the updates are done.
9. Click the Immunize icon in the menu on the left.
10. Click the Immunize button at the top of the window.

Part Two

1. Click on the Search and Destroy icon in the menu on the left.
2. Click the Check For Problems button at the top of the window. The scan will begin. It could take 30 to 60 minutes for it to finish.
3. If any items are listed in red text in the main window when the scan is complete, make sure they are all checked and click the Fix Selected Items button at the top of the window.
4. Close Spybot Search and Destroy by clicking the X in the upper right corner.

Run the Eusing Free Registry Cleaner

1. Open the Eusing Free Registry Cleaner
2. Registration is not required. Click the Skip button at the bottom of the window.
3. Click the Scan Registry Issue link at the top of the menu on the left.
4. When the scan is finished, a list of registry entries that will be corrected is displayed. Click the Repair Registry Issue near the top of the menu on the left.
5. Close the Esuing Free Registry Cleaner by clicking the X in the upper right corner.

Tune up Windows with Advanced Windows Care v2 Personal

1. Open Advanced Windows Care.
2. Click on the Scan button at the bottom of the windows. This could take several minutes depending on the speed of your computer.
3. Click the Repair button at the bottom of the windows when the scan is done.
4. Close Advanced Windows Care by clicking the Close button at the bottom of the window.

Defrag your registry with the Auslogics Free Registry Defragmenter

1. Open the Auslogics Registry Defragmenter.
2. Make sure there are on other windows open.
3. Click the Next button at the bottom of the window.
4. When the analysis is done, click the Next button at the bottom of the window.
5. Click Yes to reboot your computer.
6. After the computer reboots, the defragmenter will display a results page. Close the Auslogis Registry Defragmenter by clicking on the Close button at the bottom of the window.
