Hey.
Why don’t you post the .mp3 files of the Wednesday Cybersquad webinars anymore.
Hi Mike, please post the last two podcast, because, that is the way I can take part right now.thank you!
Hey mike – any possibility in getting last weeks Wednesday night web cast put up. Would like to listen to before this Wednesday’s so I can only be a week behind. Also are you still looking for people to do .99 cent guides. I a kinda interested in doing one for the Microsoft office programs or separate ones for each. If this is a possibility reply back to my e-mail address and we can discuss. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Hi there Mike/ I hope you remember me. I fell and broke my hip In Nov. I have not been able to attend any webinars. Can I get credit for the month of Dec. Ii had my brother notify you in Nov. but got no response. Please let me know what I can do. When is the next one? I feel like I have lost ground.
Hi Mike,
Here in Germany my Thursday mornings listening to Web Site Wednesday Nights on WGN were the highlight of each week. Thanks for bringing these webcasts to fill the void. You are obviously on a learning curve. The audio quality was so much better for the December 29th show. I am really looking forward to being able to see your screen demos as well during future webinars.
Just before Christmas I installed a dLAN using 5 powerline adapters for our Hi Def TV via the internet and our home office computers. This became nessary, since the WLAN bridge for the TV often led to pixelated or frozen TV images. The powerline worked as advertised. All of the computers had connection speeds of about 100Mbit/s. On December 27th the dLAN collapsed. There was no apparent reason for the crash. The following morning Telekom checked our VDSL connection and it was OK.
I then started checking/optimizing the adapter connections per the manual and shuffled them around between the computers. The connections with the TV and my office PC are back to normal. The two other PCs are back on line, but with slow connections of only 10-30Mbit/s. On these two connections the powerline adapters are also displaying a red or orange light on the little house symbol. I then checked our electrical system and no CBs had popped. Even if I switch adapters around an adapter from a “good room” shows the same slow connection and red light, once it is moved to a “bad room.”
Why did the powerline adapters work for 2 weeks without a problem and now two of them don’t?
What can I do to get all PC connections back to normal speed?
In addition, ever since I connected the powerline adapter to the router my notebook can still pick up the WLAN signal, but nothing else can find that signal. Can you suggest a solution?
Because of the time difference I will probably not be able to join you live, but I will certainly listen to the webinar. It would be great if you could get me back on track, especially since one of the slow connections is with my wife’s office computer.
Thanks and keep up the excellent work!
Hi Mike. I have just tried, unsuccessfully, to listen to your webinar from 12/29/2011. At first, it was impossible to get past the first couple of minutes. Then on two tries, I was able to get the first 20 minutes before it “disappeared.” I don’t think it is my equipment. The last words from you were when you were about to explain “Boot Camp.”
Hopefully, I will be able to listen “live” for the next one.
Happy New Year!
Anne
Hey Mike; Just woundering if you were going to make MP3 available of the last couple of weekly webinars. Have heard the first one and would love to listen to the last two. Work second shift so its hard to join live this is a great way to stay up to date. Thanks for doing this.
Hi Mike, Thanks so much for the Wednesday night Webinars. Both my husband and I received Kindle Fires for Christmas and, since we are both in our mid-70′s, we could sure use some “basics” about how to use them and the options available for us. We hear that we can get some books for free, buy some from Amazon.com, and also may be able to get some free from our local library, but hearing about this is all we know. Hope you can schedule some time for next Wednesday’s Webinar for this topic. Will there be one tomorrow, Wednesday, December 28th? I just signed up for “something” I hope was for a Webinar for tomorrow, but the date in your latest communication did not so indicate. Happy Holidays!!
Thanks for doing this. I have listened to Website Thursday Afternoon (reside in the Philippines) for some time now. I, too, enjoyed the “University of S & J.” When you are on daylight savings time, we are 13 hours ahead and when on standard time, it’s 14 hours. That’s why it was Website Thursday Afternoon. Here is my problem. Your Wednesday evening is our Thursday morning. Wednesday and Thursday are the days we typically do errands/shopping because of traffic and the fact that our auto license tag won’t let us drive on Tuesdays. I listened to podcasts more than live programs on WGN. And, I listened to your inaugural Webcast by download. It’s great and that’s with the few glitches being fixed. So, I won’t sign up and take up a seat when it is likely I won’t be here to participate. I wish I could be live to view the screen and when I know I can, I’ll sign up. So, for now, consider me the 177th enrollment on the signup sheet and a regular on the Cybersquad Webcast download page. Keep it up and thanks again. Regards, Ron
Okay I went to listen to last weeks web and r and it was already gone do you think that you could keep up there for a little longer then one day I do not like to sign up for that service. I hope that you will take this suggestion for future referance. thanks I enjoyed you on the steve and Jonnie show for the many years.
Hi Mike & Mike. I just listened to the Podcast since I only use Linux right now and wasn’t able to use it in person. It was fun to hear more of the Callers impressions and comments than usually get over the Air on 50,000 Watts. I did notice the “Murphy’s” law stuff. It reminded me of the Paltalk Trivia rooms we used to be in. When announcing..Some people had mic’s/head sets, others did not. You could hear the feedback or sound of You guys speaking on THE caller’s computer PC speakers through Their mics cause they had no headphones. I had that same trouble using SKYPE when talking to my friend in Australia. I could hear her Lorikeets chirping and also Me talking through her PC speakers and her trying to answer me. Both or all parties using Head phones worked the best, that way, She only had to listen to me talking, not me AND her voice bleeding through my mic off my pc speakers. It was good to hear more of Mike Reid too, I think about Hampshire each week-end on my way past the Marengo/Hampshire Truck stop for cheaper GAS. I’d also like to hear from James Ruffner if at all possible again. I went to his site once and it was down, then up, then down again. I enjoy reading about ways to thwart the Hackers. I wished S&J had been able to get him on a little more. Glad to hear the Wed night tradition is continuing. Thanks for the Podcast and I’ll keep my ears open for new developments down the road.
I just listened to the mp3 of the webinar. When I called in I was speaking on the imac microphone. To me my voice sounded like a “speaker phone call”. Next time I will try a USB mike and see if the echo is reduced. You guys sounded real clear to me at home when we were speaking. I am on AT&T DSL one step up from the basic plan. My speed tests around 1.2 down and .35 up. Hope this information helps in your review of your sound quality with the younger Mike.
Keep the show alive!
Thanks for posting the webinar. I could not make it “live” but this is just as good.
Thanks again for organizing the webinar!
